These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TIPPIDY platform ("Platform", "Service"), operated by Selfound Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16450921), with its registered office at Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE ("we", "us", "our"). TIPPIDY is a trading name of Selfound Ltd.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
TIPPIDY is a digital tipping platform that enables customers ("Tippers") to send voluntary gratuities to hospitality workers and teams ("Workers") via cashless payment methods including cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Workers receive 100% of the tip amount. A small service fee is added on top and paid by the Tipper.
TIPPIDY acts as a technology platform facilitating the payment between Tippers and Workers. We are not a party to the tipping transaction itself. Tips are voluntary gratuities and do not constitute payment for goods or services.
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use TIPPIDY. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.
To receive tips, you must create an account. You may register using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google, Facebook, or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Each account is assigned a unique username which forms your public tip page URL (tippidy.com/username). Usernames may be changed once per week. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that are inactive, misleading, or infringe third-party rights.
For Tippers: When you tip through TIPPIDY, you authorise us to process the payment via our payment provider, Stripe. Tips are voluntary and non-refundable except where required by law or in cases of fraud. A service fee is added to your tip amount and clearly displayed before payment.
For Workers: Tips are processed through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's identity verification (KYC) process before receiving payouts to your bank account. Payouts are made automatically on a rolling schedule (typically within 2 working days). Workers receive 100% of the tip amount — the service fee is paid by the Tipper.
Workers may create or join a "Crew" to share tips with team members. Crew tips are split evenly among all active crew members at the time the tip is received. Crew owners are responsible for managing their crew membership. TIPPIDY is not responsible for disputes between crew members regarding tip allocation.
A service fee is added on top of each tip and paid by the Tipper. The current fee rate is displayed on the tip page before payment. We reserve the right to change fee rates with reasonable notice. The fee covers payment processing costs and platform operating costs.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the Platform or other users. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be anonymised in accordance with our Privacy Policy, but financial records will be retained as required by law.
The TIPPIDY name, logo, and all Platform content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Selfound Ltd or its licensors. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent. By uploading content (such as a profile photo), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use it solely in connection with the Platform.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Tips received through TIPPIDY are considered taxable income in most jurisdictions. Workers are solely responsible for reporting their tip income and paying any applicable taxes. TIPPIDY does not provide tax advice. We provide tip history exports to assist with your record-keeping obligations.
TIPPIDY is not a party to transactions between Tippers and Workers. Any disputes regarding tip amounts, allocation, or crew membership should be resolved between the relevant parties. We may, at our discretion, assist with dispute resolution but are not obligated to do so.
If a Tipper disputes a charge with their bank (chargeback), we will cooperate with the investigation. For individual tips, the chargeback may be debited from the Worker's connected Stripe account. Workers should contact us immediately if they suspect fraudulent activity on their account.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the laws of your country of residence.
